About CTRLDevs
One ecosystem, studied closely.
CTRLDevs is a US consultancy for teams whose product lives in the browser. We work in one ecosystem — React, TypeScript, and the frameworks and tooling around them — because front-end architecture rewards depth: the difference between a React app that stays fast and pleasant to work in and one that decays is a long list of specific decisions, and we want to be the people who know that list cold.
What we believe about front-end work
The front end is engineering, not decoration. When the interface is the product, rendering behavior, bundle discipline, and state architecture are business concerns. We treat a slow interaction the way a backend team treats a slow query: measure it, explain it, fix it, keep it fixed.
Codebases are inherited more often than they are started. Most React work is not greenfield — it is a five-year-old app with real revenue, real users, and real constraints. We respect that. Our default motion is the incremental one: understand what exists, improve it in place, and keep the roadmap moving while we do.
Judgment should be written down. Every recommendation we make comes with its reasons and its rejected alternatives in writing. Teams keep our design notes, our reports, and our measurements long after an engagement ends — that written record is part of what you are paying for.
How we engage
We sell senior engineering time by the hour — reviews, delivery, migrations, and embedded engineers — scoped through an initial conversation rather than a form. The engagement models are described under Services, and the way we run them under Approach. If you want to sample how we think first, the Tutorials are written from the same working notes we use on engagements.
Get in touch — the first conversation costs nothing and often ends with advice rather than a proposal.
